His investigative life began with the Maryland State Police where he retired from the Criminal Investigative Command. He investigated numerous complex criminal cases and learned every aspect of conducting criminal and administrative cases. He has been a college professor since retiring and teaches criminal investigation and other homeland security related classes. He served as a contract investigator for a company supporting a variety of federal contracts. He has been an expert witness in many courts and is sought after to lecture in a variety of venues.
